One focused morning to make better decisions on outdoor lighting—technically, economically and sustainably.

Outdoor lighting is undergoing a fundamental shift. The large-scale rollout of LED, the rise of smart and connected systems, increasing pressure on budgets, and stricter environmental and regulatory requirements are changing how outdoor lighting assets must be designed, operated and maintained. These developments raise concrete questions for everyone responsible for public or industrial lighting infrastructure.

What’s in it for you?
By attending this seminar, you will gain concrete, field-tested insights to help you future-proof your outdoor lighting infrastructure. You will better understand how organisations across Belgium and Europe are approaching the LED transition, smart and interactive lighting, environmental impact and compliance—while keeping reliability, safety and long-term maintenance costs under control.

Outdoor lighting is no longer a purely technical topic. It sits at the intersection of infrastructure management, digitalisation, sustainability and public policy. This seminar is designed to give you clarity, benchmarks and practical direction, grounded in real-world experience.

We are pleased to invite you to “Illuminating the Future: Smart & Sustainable Outdoor Lighting”, a high-level seminar taking place on Laborelec, 3th of March, at Rodestraat 125, Linkebeek, bringing together key actors from across the outdoor lighting ecosystem.

You will hear from leading experts including Marc Vanden Bosch (IBE-BIV), Jordan Flament (Synergrid – ORES), Elena Scaroni (Lighting Europe), Nathan Brison (Leefmilieu Brussel / Bruxelles Environnement), Roger Couillet (Association Française de l’Éclairage – AFE), Agathe Pharel (Laborelec), Rob Van Heur (Laborelec), Denis Cornet (SPW / LuWa), Bénédicte Collard (SPW / LuWa), Filip Smets (Fluvius), Jean-Michel Deswert (Laborelec) and Christophe Orceau (Kurrant), sharing practical insights, real-world experience and forward-looking perspectives on smart and sustainable outdoor lighting.  A technology market place on lighting performance and environmental integration, will provide a forum to exchange further.

The program combines short expert interventions with moderated Q&A and panel discussions, allowing you to challenge assumptions, compare approaches and directly engage with both speakers and peers.

Who should attend
This seminar is particularly relevant for municipalities, grid operators, concession holders, industrial operators of outdoor lighting (ports, industrial sites, highways), OEMs and connected-lighting providers, engineering and installation companies, maintenance providers, universities, research centres and regulatory bodies.

After the seminar, participants are invited to continue the discussion during lunch and networking, with an optional lab visit in the afternoon.

If outdoor lighting is part of your responsibility today—or a strategic concern for the years ahead—this seminar will help you move forward with clarity and confidence.
