Taking place on June 6 at VBO-FEB, this exclusive event will bring together economic visionaries, industrial frontrunners and public authorities for a half-day of insight, inspiration and debate.

We are honoured to welcome Professor Rudy Aernoudt, economist at UGent and the University of Nancy, and former Chief of Staff to various Belgian Ministers of Economy, as opening keynote speaker. In his talk "The Art of the Green Deal", he will challenge us to rethink the European Green Deal in light of today's shifting geopolitical and industrial context.

From the policy side, Nancy Mahieu, Director General Energy at the Federal Government Department of Economy, will introduce the federal Clean Industrial Deal and reflect on the evolving energy policy landscape.

The seminar will feature real-world perspectives from leading players in Belgium’s industrial ecosystem. Thomas Verbruggen (Nyrstar) will share how the company is using flexibility to unlock new grid value, while a representative from the Port of Antwerp-Bruges (TBC) will speak on port electrification and sustainability. Additional insights come from François Boisseleau (Synergrid), Tom Van de Putte (ArcelorMittal), Citribel Ruben Hoofwijk (Citribel), Jeroen Van Fraechem (Entras), Helena Gerard (VITO) and Jasper Daniels (Sweco)—each of whom will share real challenges and scalable solutions that are shaping the transition on the ground.

We will conclude with a keynote by Pieter-Jan Provoost (Energy Tech Belgium / Agoria), Chair of the Belgian National Committee of the World Petroleum Council and member of the World Energy Council. His presentation will analyse the industrial and technological response needed in a world where energy, competitiveness and security are increasingly interlinked.

All sessions will be moderated and followed by an open discussion with the speakers.

This is a must-attend event for professionals in energy, industry, infrastructure and policy who want to be part of the solution—and the strategy.
